Trauma on Child Brain Development. The guest speaker will be Joshua Arvidson, MSS., LCSW. He is the co-founder and Director of the Alaska Child Trauma Center at Anchorage Community Mental Health Services (ACMHS). Child abuse, neglect and domestic violence have a profound impact on young children. Young children, who are developing neurologically, biologically and socially are particularly vulnerable to the impact of trauma. The developmental, attachment and trauma literature, in combination with the growing body of research on the physiological impact of trauma have significant implications for systemic responses to early childhood trauma, particularly the legal systems that influence the care and services children exposed to trauma received. 1 General CLE Credit.
