Social Security Hearings and Appeals in Alaska. The Social Security Administration (SSA) has opened a new Office of Disability Adjudication and Review (ODAR) in Anchorage to serve the Alaska region. Nationally, the SSA issues more than half a million hearing and appeal dispositions each year and is the largest administrative judicial system in the world. The guest speaker will be Alaska’s Chief Administrative Law Judge Paul Hebda, who will give a presentation on the SSA disability review administrative appeals process. Judge Hebda was appointed to the Anchorage office December 2009 and has been practicing administrative law since 2003. 1 General CLE Credit.
