Tips on How to Create Your Best Record. Renea Saade of Stoel Rives is heading a roundtable discussion which will feature court reporter Georganna Baker, videographer Martha Enslow and certified interpreter, Yolanda Martinez-Ley. These experienced legal professionals will provide feedback on the dos/don’ts for creating the best transcript and video record, suggestions on how best to utilize an interpreter, address cultural differences, hearing impairments and language barriers, common cues that a witness is possibly lying or “shutting down”, and overall advice on effective styles or practices. Ms. Saade will also provide a handout (to be emailed prior to the meeting) which will discuss perpetuation depositions, the procedural process to gett court approval to conduct perpetuation depositions before litigation, and a few other procedural matters.
