New Lawyers - Legal Practice and the Legislature

Location: Juneau and Anchorage / Jury Assembly Room, Dimond Court Building, 123 Fourth Street and Anchorage, at the Bar Office

The presentation will be held live in Juneau,  Jury Assembly Room, Dimond Court Building,  123 Fourth Street.  A telephonic site will be in Anchorage, at the Bar Office, 840 K Street, Suite 100. 


Perspectives on lLegal Practice Related to the Alaska Legislature. The section is sponsoring a panel discussion regarding legislative legal practice in Alaska.  Panelists will include: 

  • Douglas Wooliver:  Deputy Administrative Director, Alaska Court System 
  • Chad Hutchison:  Legislative Affairs, Alaska Senate Majority Office, Assistant to Sen. John Coghill 
  • Cori Mills:  Assistant Attorney General, Alaska Department of Law, Legislation and Regulation Section 
  • Assistant Attorney General Hanna Sebold, immediate past-President of the Alaska Bar Association Board of Governors, will serve as moderator. 

They will provide attendees a chance to hear perspectives from attorneys working for all three branches of Alaska's government.  Topics will include:   how the legislative session affects panelists’ jobs; the nature of panelists’ interactions with the Legislature; paths leading the panelists to their positions; and, as always, advice to newer attorneys.  Attendees are further encouraged to submit questions for our panelists in advance to New Lawyers Section Co-Chair, Loren Hildebrandt, at 1 General CLE Credit.
