Alaska Rules of Professional Conduct (ARPC) Committee

The Alaska Rules of Professional Conduct (ARPC) Committee welcomes member editing suggestions on the following proposed amendments to Alaska Rule of Professional Conduct 3.8 based on amendments to the Model Rule of Professional Conduct 3.8 adopted by the American Bar Association House of Delegates.

Comments submitted to the Board of Governors as well as the Committee’s July 2011 report to the Board:

If you wish to submit an edit, please send an electronic version of the clean draft with your edits italicized no later than Friday, November 11, 2011.  Please make your redline changes to the clean draft so they are easier to track.  Please e-mail to Steve Van Goor, Bar Counsel, at vangoors@alaskabar.org.

The ARPC Committee will consider the edits submitted at its meeting scheduled for Friday, November 18, 2011, in the Alaska Bar conference room, 840 K Street, Suite 100, Anchorage, Alaska from 12:00 noon to 1:30 p.m.

Two copies of the proposal are presented:
(1) The first is a red-line version which shows the ARPC Committee recommended changes to the American Bar Association version in bold font.  Additions are underscored while deletions have strikethroughs.
(2) The second is a clean version which shows what the rule would look like with the Committee’s recommendations.
