Municipal Law
The Municipal Law section will meet on Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at 12 noon at the Bar office, 840 K Street, Suite 100 in the Denali Conference Room.

AMAA Planning.  The AML conference is scheduled for November 18 - 22 in Anchorage this year.  The AMAA meeting is typically the first two days of the AML week or November 18 - 19.

GOOD NEWS!  Louann Cutler has agreed to be the primary organizer/contact for this year's conference!  Most of you know her but in case you don't - LouAnn is a partner at K&L Gates and has years of experience in municipal law as well as other areas.  We have worked together a few times and I look forward to assisting her in getting AMAA 2013 ready this year.  One of our goals for AMAA 2013 is to have as diverse of a group of speakers as we can get in terms of subject matter and the work location of the speaker - so please come prepared to suggest and to volunteer!  As you probably recall starting this year AML and thus AMAA will always be in Anchorage so we are trying to spread the challenges of organizing beyond the Anchorage Municipal Attorney's Office. Also, come ready to offer monetary contributions to help make this meeting happen.  Last year was a very successful year for contributions.

As time permits members will also briefly discuss the May 2014 IMLA meeting to be held in Anchorage and municipalities' response to Rule 8.

If you have section questions, please contact co-Chairs Todd Sherwood at sherwoodtk@ci.anchorage.ak.us or 907-343-4545; and Dennis Wheeler at wheelerda@ci.anchorage.ak.us or 907-343-4545.

Torts/Personal Injury Law
The Torts/Personal Injury Law section will meet on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at 12 noon at the Bar office, 840 K Street, Suite 100 in the Foraker Conference Room.

Accident Investigations and Reconstruction. We are pleased to announce Michael DiTallo, a partner in Dynamic Safety LLC, will be the guest speaker.  He will discuss accident reconstruction, accident investigation, and vehicle systems analysis.  Mr. DiTallo has been involved in accident investigations and reconstruction since 1988.  He was the Associate Director of the Northwestern University Center for Public Safety, and continues to teach at the University.  Mr. DiTallo will be visiting from Illinois and has agreed to come meet with us to discuss his experiences and expertise.  1 General CLE Credit.
