In State v. Danielle Jennett, 3AN-09-9765 CR, the government charged two counts of vehicle manslaughter and three other related offenses. In January 2010, Superior Court Judge Jack Smith presided over a jury trial with Paul D. Stockler as defense counsel. The jury included attorney Jonathon A. Katcher. Mr. Stockler will summarize the case and then several of the jurors will discuss their impressions of the trial process, evidence, arguments, jury instructions and deliberations.

Jonathon A. Katcher is a partner in the Anchorage law firm Pope & Katcher. He represents plaintinffs and defendants throughout the state in a variety of matters including personal injury, commercial disputes, attorney malpractice and judicial conduct. Much to his amazement he has served on two superior court juries - the State v. Jennette manslaughter trial and a 1996 medical malpractice trial.

Paul Stocker was an Assistant District Attorney in Anchorage, Alaska from 1986-1991. He specialized in felony prosecutions including DUI Manslaughter Prosecutions and was twice named MADD prosecutor of the year. Since leaving the DA’s office he has concentrated on insurance defense litigation with an emphasis on medical malpractice defense. He occassionally defends criminal cases. He has tried cases in Alaska (including Anchorage, Palmer, Fairbanks, Juneau and Bethel) and outside the state in Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois and Arizona.
