Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders. Tommy O’Malley is the featured speaker. Mr. O’Malley has been an educational and legal advocate for people effected by FASD for over 20 years. He has been a classroom teacher, educational and legal advocate for people effected by FASD. Mr. O’Malley is a state certified FASD educator and lecturer. He is also the parent of children with FASD and has served as a parent navigator on FASD diagnostic teams. He will be speaking on: FASD behavioral manifestations in children and adults; How FASD affect the brain; How to recognize FASD; Why the FASD population is overly represented in the legal system; What we need to know to mitigate the effects of FASD; The new SB 151 law that make FASD a mitigating factor in criminal sentencing; and Tips on how to work with individuals with FASD. 1 General CLE Credit.
