The Basics. As requested at the organizational meeting, this meeting will focus on the basics of this practice area. Co-Chair Paul Eaglin, Fairbanks, and who has presented at national CLE conferences, will be the speaker.
Topics include: the claims process; getting paid as representative; the expedited fee agreement process and the fee petition process; claims process from first contact with prospective client through representation at the Appeals Council and the final administrative level. Tentatively, Paul is hoping to utilize heavily an internet resource to introduce members to this source and for general information about Social Security practice. For those calling in the plan is to have you view the internet source from your computer along with those in Anchorage. If this works as planned, more information will be sent closer to the meeting. 1 General CLE Credit.
NOTE: Social Security Disability Advocacy Law section members are also invited to the joint Elder Law and Estate Planning/Probate Law section meeting on January 20, 2011, at noon in the Bar office. Paula Jacobson of Woelber & Jacobson (and the SS Disability Advocacy’s co-chair) will discuss the Social Security appeals process in Alaska. 1 General CLE Credit.
